Welcome to my Website. Here, you will find a rich resource of audio technology, auditory perception and music related material.
Having toured the globe extensively as a professional musician with Riverdance, the Afro Celt Sound System, NeffBros, the Cork Youth Orchestra, and the Royal Scottish National Symphony Orchestra, I have settled back in Ireland where I am a lecturer in Audio Technology at the Limerick Institute of Technology.
I am also currently writing up my PhD thesis under the supervision of Dr. Ian Pitt at the Department of Computer Science, University College Cork. Much of the material on this Website relates to my own research, my teaching career at both University College Cork and Limerick Institute of Technology, and my continued music and compositional activity.
I have the pleasure of working with vibrant colleagues at both LIT, UCC (the IDEAS Research Group) and other third level institutions, where I am involved in interdisciplinary research in Spatial Audio, Video, Animation, Virtual Reality, Web Accessibility, Speech Technology, Medical and Mobile Computing. My colleagues with whom I work closely on a number of projects include Dr. Ian Pitt, David Murphy, Aidan Kehoe, Tracy Mehigan, Razvan Bocu, and Patrick Felicia of WIT. Some new research avenues are currently being explored at LIT - so watch this space!
