Flaithri Neff is a musician, composer and academic. He has performed on the world stage with Riverdance, the Afro Celt Sound System, Neffbros, the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, the Lorient Festival Orchestra and more. Along with his brother Eoghan, he has worked with renowned film composer Atli Örvarsson on the score of "The Eagle", a film by Oscar-winning director Kevin McDonald. Extracts from the score were performed live by Flaithrí, Eoghan, Atli, Thórhildur Örvarsdóttir and Satnam Ramgotra (collectively known as Torc) at the prestigious LA Composer's Salon in Los Angeles, USA (chaired by Kubilay Uner).
Flaithri is currently a lecturer in Audio Technology at the Dept. of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Limerick Institute of Technology, Ireland. He has also recently successfully defended his PhD under Dr. Ian Pitt, Dept. of Computer Science, University College Cork, Ireland. His research interests are in the areas of virtual spatial auditory environments, sonic interface design and intelligent hearing systems.
